# BASF Introduces Alternative Leather 100% Recyclable

### [BASF](https://www.basf.com/vn/en.html) **, a global leader in the chemical industry, recently introduced**[Haptex® 4.0](https://www.basf.com/vn/en/media/news-releases/asia-pacific/2024/07/apac-24-33.html) **, an innovative, eco-friendly synthetic leather that is set to revolutionize the leather industry****.**

The global leader BASF is introducing a new alternative to leather. This advancement solves a significant challenge in reusing or recycling end-of-life synthetic leather, which traditionally consists of multiple raw materials, including PU and PET.

Moreover, the new material allows the recycling of synthetic leather made with Haptex® 4.0 and PET fabric. This is due to an innovative formulation and recycling pathway. Importantly, it eliminates the need for layer peel-off processes.

## **Alternative Leather Composition**
