Mike Clark was named chief operating officer of Pilot Chemical Co., the Cincinnati-based specialty chemical company. Clark most recently served as the vice president of organics at Sasol Performance Chemicals in Houston. He will report to Pilot’s chief executive officer and president Pam Butcher.

“The board and I are excited to welcome Mike to the Pilot team,” says Paul Morrisroe, chairman of the board of directors. “We are confident that his extensive industry management experience, both here and abroad, will contribute to Pilot’s growth and success in the future.”

During his tenure at Sasol, Clark held management positions in sales and marketing, business development, and strategic planning. Before that, he served in various management roles at CONDEA Chemie in Germany.

“I am excited to join a private, family business with such a sterling reputation,” Clark says. “Pilot began with innovation, quality production, and a focus on customers, and I look forward to building on that foundation.”

He will lead corporate operations from the company’s Cincinnati headquarters, overseeing the business and commercial; manufacturing; integrated supply chain and customer service; and environmental health, safety, and quality departments.

Pilot Chemical provides specialty chemicals to the emulsion polymerization industry, as well as disinfecting, sanitizing, and cleaning; metalworking and lubricants; and oil field sectors.
