Chemineer to exhibit at SPE ANTEC 2014

Chemineer Heat Exchanger Chemineer will exhibit its Kenics product line, featuring the Kenics KMX-V Static Mixer and Kenics UltraTab Static Mixer, at the SPE ANTEC Show, April 28-30 in Las Vegas at booth #420. The Kenics KMX-V Static Mixers utilize cross-stream mixing and flow splitting to achieve very rapid blending. Each element is approximately one pipe diameter in length and consists of multiple intersecting blades, which generates fluid layers as the mixture flows downstream. Read More

Traveling planetary cutter from Conair makes clean, lathe-like cuts on precision, small-bore medical tubing

Conair Tubing Extrusion Producers of small-diameter medical tubing can automate cut-to-length operations and increase productivity without worrying about cut-quality or particulate contamination, thanks to a new traveling planetary cutter (TPC) from Conair. Unlike a rotary fly-knife cutter, which chops through tubing in one quick slice, the planetary knife rotates around the tubing, gradually penetrating the wall to yield a precise, square cut without the shattering, whitening or distortion that commonly occurs with other cutting methods. Solvay's Radel PPSU utilized in micro-diameter variable flexibility medical tubing

Solvay's Radel PPSU The quality team at Versatile Mold were challenged to figure out how to distinguish Versatile Mold from their competitors. They felt there was no better way than to improve their quality while shortening the design and qualification cycle. Determining that the earlier in a project errors might be detected led them to a very innovative process. They would verify the correctness of an injection molding tool before any steel was cut. How new catalysts are changing polypropylene

PE January Blog Plastics made with genuinely new catalysts are hard to spot when resin companies don’t identify them in data sheets or only make them available to test partners. But several unusual new polypropylenes are in plain sight for the first time at the Polyolefins Conference on "The Polyolefin Renaissance" in Houston, February 23-26, hosted by the South Texas section of the Society of Plastics Engineers. Flexibility is the trump card

KraussMafffei flexible cube Injection-mold components, combine them with other components and assemble them as ready-to-use: This is possible, all thanks to the SpinForm injection molding technology from KraussMaffei, along with a flexible cube concept from the mold manufacturer, Zahoransky. This will be demonstrated on a CX machine with SpinForm technology (CXW) at the Chinaplas international exhibition (April 23 to 26, hall E.1, booth K 41). Read More
